easy-on | London Academy

Prestigious London Academy keeps its standards high with easy-on coating. easy-on is damage, scuff & scratch resistant so corridor, classroom & stairwell walls stay looking like new for up to 20 years.

The London Academy is a British Secondary school and sixth form in Edgware, North London. The school currently has around 1400 pupils and prides itself on being a fantastic place to learn.

Like all schools The London Academy fights to keep its standards high not just academically but also aesthetically. The latter is easier said then done with 1400, 11 – 18 year olds moving around the place. One of the key areas for damage in any publicly inhabited space is walls. Scuff marks from shoes, dirty hand prints and bag damage attack paintwork on a daily basis and keeping up with redecoration can sometimes feel like painting the Fourth Bridge. Fortunately help was at hand for the London Academy and it had more in common with the afore mentioned bridge than most people know.

The site managers at the London Academy wanted a product to protect their corridor, classroom and stairwell walls. The product had to be compatible with all surfaces, be resistant to damage and withstand repeated cleaning operations. Finally the product had to be sustainable and mustn’t break the bank. A tall order by anyone’s standards but by no means impossible.

The product they selected was a long life, protective, durable paint called easy-on. Manufactured by Urban Hygiene Ltd and supplied by our friends at GoGum easy-on’s robust nature meant it was up to the job of protecting The London Academy’s walls and its 10 year pedigree as the UK’s number one “true permanent” anti graffiti coating meant it had all the wipe clean credentials the Academy required.

Work got underway redecorating the school and easy-on coating was applied to every square meter. Corridors, stairwells, classrooms and kitchens were all painted ensuring wherever dirt, grease or damage occurred the offending contaminants could always be wiped away quickly to reveal clean “newly painted” walls.

12 months on and everyone is pleased with the decision. Walls look like new and marks are taken care of in a fraction of the time.

The major benefit of this proactive decision is of course yet to come, since clean walls don’t need redecorating The London Academy can look forward to 19 more years of savings and since demand for places at such a fantastic learning institution is high we can be sure the money they save will be going to good use educating our children.
