Overview - easy-guard Class '1' colour coat
easy-guard Class '1' fire protection paint has been designed in partnership with Exova Warringtonfire.
This life saving passive fire protection product is a must for all communal areas where multiple layers of paint have been allowed to build up. If a fire breaks out existing coatings can ignite and flames can burn along a wall or across a ceiling using paint as its fuel. Combustion of this sort is fast and ferocious and tests have shown fires of this type can chase down corridors or up stairwells faster than most people can run. It is for this reason that the Department of Trade and Industry's (DTI's) Fire Safety Code of Practice advises that where multiple layer paint systems have built up, walls should be stripped back to the bare plaster or over coated with a fire paint.
easy-guard Class ‘1’ system is a water based fire protection paint and in the worst case Exova Warrington Fire "blue board" test gained a Class '1' rating for BS476 parts 6 & 7 when applied over the worst case scenario Class 4 board. easy-guard class '1' fire retardant paint is available in any RAL or BS colour to compliment and enhance the living environment and has been tested as a full system with the easy-on antigraffiti coating system.
By using easy-guard Class '1' fire paint and easy-on antigraffiti coating together our customers can guarantee clean, Class '1' walls for up to 20 years without having to worry about their passive fire protection efforts being compromised by overzealous cleaning or graffiti removal, a common problem in schools and tower blocks.
easy-guard Class ‘1’ fire resistant paint enables architects, building owners and surveyors to comply with Section B2 of the Building Regulations act and also to fulfil their obligations under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order (RRFSO).
