The National Anti graffiti Conference 2010

The aim of the Anti-Graffiti Association is to promote Best Practice in the management of Graffiti, Vandalism and related crime, through a combined approach of research, education and communication.

If you are serious about wiping out graffiti you need to be at the 2010 AGA Conference. It is held to enable like minded people to exchange ideas and learn about new technologies and processes. The conference attracts the most qualified speakers to ensure you are best informed to help prevent graffiti vandalism on trains, buses, underground systems and buildings. It will deal with protecting all types of property and will look at a range of systems including films.

11th May (½ day) - Legalities, Technologies and Processes. A half day session on the first day comprising of 3 workshops.

1 Films and Liquid Coatings Workshop. Getting to know the pros and cons of protective films and coatings. 2 Legislation Workshop. Relevant Law interpretations and use. 3 Health & Safety Workshop. Are you safe when you work on site?

Delegates are invited to actively participate in any two of the three workshops, commencing at 14.05 and 15.25

12th May (full day) - Starting at 09.00 Finishing Approx 15.35 Guest Speakers Topics Are: City of Stockholme - The reasons behind the Stockholm City zero-tolerance policy, experiences, future developments e.g the tagger de-programming initiative, treating addicts and other involved. British Transport Police - The work BTP have carried out in conjunction with London Underground and other train operating companies in protecting our rail infrastructure from graffiti vandalism. City of Bristol Clean and Green - A people led project that is aimed at improving the cleanliness of public places within the City of Bristol. Virgin Media - How Virgin Media complies with the various forms of legislation including the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act. Sypol - A broad view of health and safety issues, to link with the workshop of the previous day and to give an overview which is relevant to contractors, councils who employ contractors or councils who have their own staff doing graffiti removal work and train operators. Keep Britain Tidy - The Graffiti Knowledge Bank and how it works. The Knowledge Bank contains information which can be downloaded and act as a 'one stop shop' for knowledge and information.

Trade Stands, Lunch and Refreshments There will be trade stands around the conference room. Lunch will be served on Wednesday 12th May and coffee and refreshment breaks will be provided on both days. New for 2010 - An Evening Meal and Networking Opportunity Delegates are invited to join the AGA Management Committee for an evening meal at the Pitcher & Piano on Tuesday 11th.
